Black Adam is almost here. It’s been four years since the first Black Panther movie and Marvel fans are gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated sequel, Black Adam.

The tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman has left quite a hole in the world, first and foremost the very real loss, as well as his sudden absence in the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the show must go on, as they say, and Black Panther 2, officially titled Black Adam, is currently in the works. The movie is expected to both pay homage to the late actor and expand the wonderful world he helped bring to life.

Following the death of King T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman, this movie follows Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje as they band together to protect Wakanda from intervening world powers.

If you can’t wait to see the next chapter in this saga, here’s everything we know about how, when, and where you can watch Black Adam:

When and Where Is Black Adam Releasing?

DC’s long-standing rivals Marvel have announced that their upcoming major superhero sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released in the US on November 11, 2022. This set a base target for DC who announced that their upcoming superhero release Black Adam would release on October 21, 2022, to a worldwide audience, exactly 3 weeks before Black Panther.

This could be seen as a clever tactic to maximize the Box Office figures, although some cynical commentators would suggest it is out of fear that Black Adam might not be able to compete once Black Panther, a franchise behemoth, has been released. Either way, it is fantastic news for DC fans who don’t have to wait long to see one of DC’s all-time classic characters appear on the silver screen. Some very lucky fans have in fact had the opportunity to already view the movie, with the world premiere having taken place in Mexico City on October 3, 2022.

Though there’s no set pattern, many Disney movies will stream close to 45 days after theatrical release, usually on the Friday after (Disney+’s regular day to release new movies. If that’s the case, Black Adam could be streaming on Disney+ as early as December 30 — or if the service wants to jump the gun, December 25 as an early Christmas present.

When Will Black Adam Be on Disney+?

Although Black Adam is not streaming on Disney+ on November 11, chances are it should be there sooner, rather than later. Marvel movies tend to stream on the service anywhere from 45 days later, to a few months later, with streaming dates TBA depending on the movie’s performance. Given this, it’s possible Black Adam could start streaming on Friday, December 30, just in time for New Year’s Eve. Alternately, if Disney wants to release it a little earlier, the movie could hit 44 days later, on December 25 as a Christmas surprise. Or, if the movie is performing extremely well in theaters, as expected, it’s possible the movie could be released for streaming outside of the 45 day window, some time in January, 2023.
